Partners in Ministry

Here's a list of some of the many ministries outside of Lakeshore that we have partnered with and links to their websites. These are external links so you'll be leaving our site and visiting theirs or their site will open in a new browser tab. Check them out. There may be something you'd like to get involved with!

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministers are members of our congregation who are specially trained to listen, encourage, and support people who are going through tough times. For more information on how you may serve in this Mission, or if you feel that you need a Stephen Minister in your life contact: Sharrie Entrekin at 601-955-5693 or Dian Munn at 601-937-3344.

Ronald McDonald House

Ronald McDonald House serves as a “home away from home” for families of seriously ill children who travel to Jackson for specialized medical care. It is a home where families can reside in a caring and comfortable environment, share their fears and concerns, receive the support of others who are in similar circumstances, and gain strength during the most difficult time in their lives. The Seekers SSC/Lakeshore Church has committed to serve dinner for those families once a month. They would also like to provide a scholarship fund to help families pay for the nights they stay. If you are interested in helping prepare meals, serving meals or making a donation to this fund, please contact Stacey Ainsworth. 601-624-3431/

Gravy and Grace

Gravy and Grace became a ministry of Alta Woods United Methodist Church nearly fourteen years ago. They recognized a need to serve the large population of individuals who lived their life on the streets of Jackson. Through the work of dedicated servants, the ministry provides nutritional and spiritual support to those in need. Every Sunday morning, a breakfast of hot baked biscuits and sausage gravy is prepared and served. At the completion of the meal, a worship service takes place with live music, a message from the pastor, and prayer time. In addition to the meal, a Blessing Room is open to help those in need of personal care items, clothing and many other items. If you would like to serve with the other Lakeshore volunteers for this ministry your help is needed. Call or email Jim Stingley to sign up or for more info. 601-942-7654/
